This policy explains what personal data LinkeeDate (linkeedate.com) collects, why, and the rights you have under the GDPR. The data controller can be reached at hello@linkeedate.com.

1. Data we collect

Depending on how you use the service, we process:

  • Account: your email, and (if you sign in with Google) your name, profile picture and language preference.
  • Links you create: the recipient's first name, an optional headline, a chosen GIF and the language.
  • Responses to your links: when someone opens or answers a link we record a timestamp, the browser user-agent, the referring page, and the answer submitted (day, time, food, optional message).
  • Billing: a Polar customer id and your subscription status. We never see or store your full card details.
  • Usage: anonymous, cookieless audience measurement.

2. Why we use it & legal basis

We process this data to provide the service and your account (performance of a contract), to send subscription and sign-in emails (contract), to secure the service and prevent abuse (legitimate interest), and to measure aggregate usage (legitimate interest). When you create a link, you are responsible for informing the recipient that their answer will be shared with you.

3. Service providers

We rely on carefully chosen processors: Neon (database hosting), Resend (sign-in & notification emails), Google (sign-in), Polar (payments), Giphy (GIF search), Vercel (hosting & privacy-friendly analytics) and, only if you configure it, Discord (notifications). Some may process data outside the EU under appropriate safeguards.

4. Retention

Account data is kept until you delete your account. A link and its visits and responses are kept until you delete the link or your account.

5. Your rights

You can access, correct, export or delete your data, and object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise these rights, or to delete your account, email hello@linkeedate.com. You may also lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

6. Cookies

We use a strictly necessary cookie to keep you signed in and a cookie that remembers your language. Our audience measurement does not use cookies and does not track you across sites.
